I was in the middle of reviewing a lengthy PDF document and was quick to realized that I could not copy text from it. I was trying to copy the text to make comments in my own notes. If this happens to you, make sure to check the document security properties. File -> Properties, Click on the Security Tab. I am using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The document that I am reviewing simply doesn't allow text to be copied from it.

I know this issue well. Especially annoying is the Microsoft habit of making error messages uncopy-able. Posting the error message will usually help find a fix. My solution involves the use of Capture2Text to extract the required text. Sometimes this still does not copy it. In that case, use Snipping Tool to extract the image then Capture2Text to extract the content. Cheers klrock
