This isn't really related to work IT but I work at a library and we have members that ask questions about things like this. This is related to home IT tech. The things that friends, family, and neighbors ask IT people about in random conversations. Apple announced at this year's CES that iTunes will be an app (called iTunes Movies and TV Shows) available on the Samsung Smart TV (I have one in my living room). Will this mean that the Apple TV will be going away? It is also interesting that Apple picked Samsung. Will Apple be launching their own streaming service like Disney? Here is the article that I read: https://500ish.com/the-end-of-itunes-2b69d812d861 Edited by user Tuesday, January 15, 2019 10:32:33 PM(UTC)

I used to love and swear by the Apple TVs. You can Airplay content right from your phone, etc. While they are somewhat new everything works great. As they get older, apps stop working and I found myself trying the different Apple TV models I had to see which app worked on each. I was wasting a lot of time fiddling around to see what worked. Long story short, I ditched my Apple TVs for the $25 Chromecast devices that work great! Now I can stream right from my computer! The only thing I was really missing was my iTunes movies which I got through Movies Anywhere by simply linking my iTunes account. I recently tried to use iTunes on a laptop in the car to play movies that I had downloaded. That didn't work either. As far as I'm concerned all of the Apple stuff can go away. Years ago it used to be great ...

I definitely agree! Apple products are great until they won't update anymore. I like Movies Anywhere, all of my Disney movies that come with a digital download go there. I have my Movies Anywhere account linked to my Amazon account. I can watch them and download them on all of our tablets and phones and watch them anywhere. We watch them on the Amazon app on our Samsung TV too. https://www.theverge.com...es-anywhere-app-features Edited by user Wednesday, January 16, 2019 7:12:37 PM(UTC)
